Recently, LIWAN sponsored the Next Generation Networking Dinner which brings retails industry professionals together to facilitate business development, knowledge sharing and networking. The event held at Oman Avenues Mall on 28th Sep 2016.
LIWAN showcase its unique project THE SHIP. Located at Muscat / Ghubra Liwan A’Safina – A shopping mall with a design of a SHIP considered as the biggest attraction signifying traditional roots of Oman and providing quality retail. LIWAN is the Mall’s sole operator, responsible for its management, leasing and marketing, and thus continues its expansion strategy to grow its brand throughout Oman.

To increase the mall’s appeal and enhance the shopping experience, LIWAN is implementing initiatives such as newly designed interior landscaping and improvement of the mall’s visibility and accessibility. Additional seating (Outdoor), gym & entertainment area are also considered. Moreover, new services are in place for shoppers’ convenience such as free wireless Internet throughout the mall.
Positioned towards mid to high end retail brands, this project is expected to host about 40 focused retail units and contain several attractions like Panoramic Elevator, Eye catching fountain located on Ground floor, Wide Atrium, Top floor extended terraces for Fine Dining & Casual Dining restaurants overseeing the Arabian Sea.
Mr. Alyahmadi stated that Retails Industry in Oman growing in a good speed since 2010 and continues to expand, a number of large construction projects, malls and hypermarkets, look set to add more retail space to the sector.
Meanwhile, the rise in the number of shopping malls, particularly in Muscat, has coincided with a shift in spending patterns as the population becomes more tendency to have shopping under one roof. Moreover, the Omani consumer price index shows that a large portion of household spending still goes towards food and related products.
